AI in Harbour
How Harbour uses AI
Harbour uses AI to help people communicate more clearly. AI is always there to assist — it never replaces your judgement, and it is only used when you choose to use a feature that needs it.
What AI does inside Harbour
Depending on the feature being used, AI in Harbour may:
- assist with drafting messages,
- provide communication coaching,
- mediate conversations between participants when you turn mediation on,
- generate conversation insights or summaries,
- transcribe voice recordings, and
- provide other AI-assisted functionality introduced in future versions of Harbour.
What is sent to AI providers
When you choose to use an AI-powered feature, Harbour shares only the information reasonably necessary to provide that feature. Depending on the context, this may include:
- message content,
- relevant conversation history,
- participant display names,
- voice transcripts, and
- other information reasonably necessary for the AI feature to function.
Harbour does not use the contents of your private conversations to build advertising profiles or to deliver targeted advertising.
You stay in control
- AI mediation only runs in a conversation when participants have agreed to it.
- AI-generated content is shown to you first — you decide whether to send, edit or discard it.
- You can review your AI conversation history from inside the Harbour app and include it in your data export.
- You can delete your AI conversation history along with the rest of your account at any time.
AI is not professional advice
AI-generated responses are produced automatically and may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your particular circumstances. They should not be relied upon as legal, medical, financial, psychological or other professional advice. You remain responsible for the decisions you make, the messages you send and the way you use AI-generated content within Harbour.
Harbour is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services or an appropriate support organisation.
Automated decisions
Harbour does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing. AI suggestions are intended to assist you — not to take decisions on your behalf.
Service providers and changes
Harbour relies on trusted third-party AI service providers to power these features. As Harbour develops, we may improve our AI features by changing models, providers or processing methods. Where those changes materially affect how personal data is processed, we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly.
